Error description

  • Various abends due to storage overlay in CCB when AUTOBIND
    and when access control authorization exit is used
    ABEND0C4 RC00000010 at DSN3AMGP.DSN3AUCM+0B06
    ABEND0C4 RC00000010 at DSNSLD1 .DSNSVBK +0928
    ABEND0C4 RC00000010 at DSNWVAPR.DSNWVAPR+0F18
    ABEND0C4 RC00000010 at DSNSLD1 .DSNSCON2+0A7A
    ABEND04E RC00E20005 at DSN3AUCM.DSNSVBK +0994
    ABEND04E RC00E2000E at DSN3AUCM.DSNSFBK +118A and
    other abends such as RC00E2000D at other csects are possible.
    DB2 may terminate with RC00F30408.
    The common symptom is: the thread experiencing the abend is
    the AUTBND06 service task and the storage being overlaid is in
    CCB block CCBUSER_STR for x'100' bytes.
    The access control exit can be the DB2 "Access control
    authorization exit(DSNX@XAC)" or a vendor product

    keywords: smcoverlay DB2STGLK/K

Local fix

  • Rebind the invalidated or old plans before autobind or disable
    AUTOBIND, if possible

    ****************************************************************
    With PK92315 (UK53070 V8, UK53071 V9) applied and package
    authorization cache enabled, during auto bind of a plan
    with PKLIST option specified, storage overlay occurred which
    resulted in abends with dump titles like the following:
    V8:
     SSNM,ABND=0C4-00000011,U=        ,M=(N),C=810.SMC -DSNSFBLK,
      M=DSN3AUFR,LOC=DSNSLD1 .DSNSFBK +06B4

     SSNM,ABND=0C4-00000010,U=SYSOPR  ,M=(N),C=810.SMC -SNSCPOL,
      M=DSNSCON2,LOC=DSNSLD1 .DSNSCON2+0A7A

    V9:
     SSNM,ABND=0C4-00000010,U=SYSOPR  ,M=(N),C=910.SSSC-DSN3AUTH,
      M=DSN3AUFR,LOC=DSN3AMGP.DSN3AUCM+0B06

     SSNM,ABND=0C4-00000038,U=SYSOPR  ,M=(N),C=910.IFC -DSNWTRC,
      M=DSNTFRCV,LOC=DSNWVAPR.DSNWVAPR+0F18

     SSNM,ABND=04E-00E20005,U=SYSOPR  ,M=(N),C=910.SSSC-DSN3AUTH,
      M=DSN3AUFR,LOC=DSN3AUCM.DSNSVBK +0994

    The use of an invalid length to copy the authorization ID
    field caused the overlay.

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been changed to check for a valid length before copying
    the authorization ID field.
