Error description

A "SOAP with Attachments" (SwA) style attachment is missing
from a message sent from a JAX-WS application.

The JAX-WS application uses a JAXB bean containing data mapped
to a SwA style attachment.  The Web service receiving the
message may fail in an unpredictable manner.

A "SOAP with Attachments" (SwA) style attachment is missing
from a message sent from a JAX-WS application.

The JAX-WS application uses a JAXB bean containing data mapped
to a SwA style attachment.  The Web service receiving the
message may fail in an unpredictable manner.

Note that SwA style attachments are uncommon.  Most JAX-WS
applications use MTOM (Message Transmission Optimization
Mechanism) style attachments

This failure is more common if WS-Security is enabled.

Problem conclusion

The JAX-WS runtime is responsible for passing attachment
information to the JAXB runtime.  Due to the algorithm flaw,
the attachment information was not sent to the JAXB runtime,
and subsequently lost.  This failure is isolated to SwA
attachments.

The failing algorithm is changed to ensure that the SwA
attachment information is preserved.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.15.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
