Error description
When doing hot-code replacement from Ration Application Developer V7.5 into a WebSphere Portal V6.1 or WebSphere Application Server V6.1 with an incompatible or invalid change, you cannot recover by restarting the application or updating the application so that a subsequent compatible and valid change fails.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V7.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Portlet container holds on to the * * compound classloader and therefore a * * hot code replace cannot be performed * * without an application re-install or * * server restart in certain * * circumstances. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Thread com.ibm.ws.portletcontainer.runtime.PortletWebAppInitializationC ollaborator continues to run after WebSphere Application Server AdminApp.stopApplication. Thereby the classloader is not released and a valid Hot Code Replace (HCR) after an invalid HCR before the stopApplication cannot be done. That's why the application needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled or the server restarted. This slows down the development flow.
Problem conclusion
Substituted classloader class variable with call to IServletContext.getClassloader() at runtime in PortletWebAppInitializationCollaborator, whenever the classloader is needed. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 7.0.0.15.
