Problem summary

• The WCM Search Seedlist 1.0 currently retrieves all items
  from JCR which might lead to performance and memory issues when
  accessing a huge repository.
  
  In order to fix that, a performance fix (PM21390: WCM
  SEEDLIST 1.0 PERFORMANCE AND MEMORY USAGE FIX) has been
  introduced, which enables WCM Search Seedlist to make use of a
  Portal cache which will be added by this particular fix.
  

Problem conclusion

• With the performance fix (PM21390: WCM SEEDLIST 1.0
  PERFORMANCE AND MEMORY USAGE FIX) the WCM Search Seedlist 1.0
  will use a Portal cache in order to store its JCR IDs in a flat
  list. It will fetch all JCR IDs with the first request and will
  put it into this cache, so the first request might now take
  longer than before, but will be much faster in the following
  requests as the items are served by the cache instead of the JCR
  database. This solution will increase the performance and lower
  the memory usage while crawling.
