  There is a NullPointerException during node synchronization
  when a parent folder is NULL. NodeSync hits the
  NullPointerException when the parent folder used for comparison
  during node-metadata.properties exclusion. APAR PM14708
  alread fixed the same issue for WebSphere Application Server
  version 7.
  

Problem conclusion

• Source code has been modified to set the parent folder to "\"
  which is the root folder, when the parent folder is NULL.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 6.1.0.35.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
  page for delivery information:
