APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • At profile create, stack create and FeP augment time, the
profiles framework checks for sufficient disk space. Available
disk space checking is not reliable on z/OS resulting in the
operation failing when in fact sufficient disk space exists.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: "Insufficient disk space" error might *
    * incorrectly be logged or displayed *
    * when creating or augmenting a profile *

    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
Disk space validation is unable to take into account disk
extents on z/OS causing insufficient disk error when in fact
    sufficient disk storage exists.

Problem conclusion

  • The issue is resolved by enhancing the disk space validation
logic to not run on z/OS.

APAR PM19119 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.13 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0.
