PM18609: PUBLISHING A RENAMED CONTENT DOES NOT UPDATE THE PUBLISHED CONTENT LINKS

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Creating a draft from a published content with links, then
renaming and publishing the draft does not update the name of
    the existing published content links.

Local fix

  • Rename the published content item directly to rename the links.

Problem summary

  • The published content link nodes in the JCR were not being
updated with the new name because the system considered the
publish operation a draft operation and was therefore only
updating the draft content links. As a result any links
generated to existing content link items (in navigators, menus,
link components or elsewhere) would show the old name.

Problem conclusion

  • This problem was fixed by checking the workflow status of the
item being updated to see if the operation should be considered
    draft or published.
