Problem Summary: Duplicate items in a menu where search criteria is Auth. Template and menu.allowDuplicateResults=false Detailed Problem Description: Duplicate items in a menu where search criteria is Auth. Template, with menu.allowDuplicateResults=false and content linked to multiple site areas.
Problem conclusion
Problem Analysis: If either The Menu is not cache Efficient or WCM hits the maximum items to cache 'Have hit maxItemsToCache threshold' for menus one of the two following errors is logged: Retrieving results for the menu : menu Menu is not cache Efficient: Getting menu items as user for menuId: 5b82808042620710a42fe66dc8fb18b2 :: Request asks for no duplicate results. This is not possible for uncached menu results, so the menu will include duplicate results .. Have hit maxItemsToCache threshold ::100:: Getting menu items as user for menuId: 5b82808042620710a42fe66dc8fb18b2 :: Request asks for no duplicate results. This is not possible for uncached menu results, so the menu will include duplicate results. Problem Solution: Added a setting to the WCMConfigService.properties file menu.forceNoDuplicateResults default is false and the logic is unchanged. However, if returning duplicate results is never acceptable then the customer can set menu.forceNoDuplicateResults=true and the results will be filtered. The customer should first try to solve this by increasing menu.cache.max.items as the filtering required by this option will impact performance. Affected Users: All users .
