    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: SPI layer resource injection fails *
    *                      for Jax-Ws Soap/Jms scenario.           *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    According to Jax-WS specification, the WebServiceContext is
    treated as an injectable resource when marked with @Resource
    annotation. This allows webserviceContext to be injected into
    the web service profider instance during runtime by the
    WebService engine.
    For example, the following code fragment shows a simple
    service provider implementation class which requests the
    injection of its WebServiceContext:
    @WebService
    public class Test{
     @Resource
     private WebServiceContext context;
    . . .

    Currently, as a result of SPI layer implementation, the
    resource injection is not being performed for Soap/Jms web
    service binding.

Problem conclusion

  • SPI implementation has been corrected to perform the resource
    injection as requested by the @Resource annotation for the
    Soap/Jms web service binding.

    APAR PM16250 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
    Level (Fix Pack) 1.0.1.7 of WebSphere Application Server v7
