    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Performance tuning options are *
    * implemented with the profile *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
Performance tuning options are now available with the profile
management tool, so that while creating an AppServer profile
you can tune it based on the chosen tuning template. The
service is also available through manageprofiles using command
    prompt.

Problem conclusion

  • Necessary code changes have been done to integrate the
Performance tuning options with Profile Management Tool and
    manageprofiles command.

This APAR requires changes to documentation.

NOTE: Periodically, we refresh the documentation on our Web
site, so the changes might have been made before you read this

The following change to the WebSphere Application Server
Version 7.0.x Information Center, which only applies for
WebSphere Application Server Version 7.0.0.11 or higher, was
    made available in May, 2009:

Step 7 of the topic "Creating application server profiles" was
updated to include the following information:

Performance tuning setting: Select the performance-tuning
setting that most closely matches the type of environment in
which the application server will run.

    Standard
The standard settings are the standard out-of-the-box default
configuration settings that are optimized for general-purpose
    usage.

    Production
The production settings are optimized for a production
environment where application changes are rare and optimal
    runtime performance is important.

    Development
The development settings are optimized for a development
environment where frequent application updates are performed
and system resources are at a minimum.

Important: Do not use the development settings for production
    servers.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
Service Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.11 of WebSphere
Application Server for z/OS. Refer to URL:
