Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The WMQ Get Fast Wait processing logic *
    *                      for a PUT1 request fails with abend     *
    *                      S0C4-10 in a system where TRANISO=YES   *
    *                      is specified.                           *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    Attempts by a WMQ Putter task to insert a message into a WMQ Get
    Fast Waiter's input buffer fail with an S0C4-10 abend when
    TRANISO=YES is specified. This is because, when transaction
    isolation is active, CICS switches the application doing the
    PUT1 into a subspace which does not have access to the buffer
    of the application doing the GET.

Problem conclusion

  • A test has been inserted prior to the MQPUT1 logic in DFHMQTRU
    to see whether or not transaction isolation is active.
    If it is, a subspace switch back to basespace is made prior to
    the MQPUT1, with another switch back to subspace upon return
    from the MQPUT1 call.
