  • DCRM I/O BUFFER POOL is full because of too many type 2 inactive
connections. DB2 abends with 04E-00E2000C.

The user testing 20000 CONDBAT ran into this problem around
15867 with 15862 inactive type2 connections.
The control block size was changed considerably when this
storage pool was moved above the bar so that far fewer blocks
can exist before it becomes full.  The maximum number of blocks
should have been increased to accomodate for the additional
size.

Problem conclusion

  • The default maximum number of pages which can exist in a fixed
block pool has been increased to a higher number for all above
the bar fixed pools.
