Error description

  • SBCS characters fetched from DB2 table via FM/DB2 panel got disp
layed as blanks in Japanese panel that was properly displyed und
er FM V6.1.  FM V9.1 has started to use the IBM supplied utility
CUNLCNV to perform the conversion and the any codepoints could
not be converted are displayed with hex representation of 'FE'.

*                      Unicode data and the codepage for       *
*                      either the terminal or the DB2          *
*                      column is not avaiable to the IBM       *
*                      Unicode conversion routine CUNLCNV,     *
*                      the Unicode data is not displayed.      *

* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *
****************************************************************
Error handling logic has been included for Unicode conversion.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • File Manager has been updated so that when an Unicode conversion
error occurs a message will be displayed.
