Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V7.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: PortletApplicationCollaborator may * * incorrectly deactivate portlet * * application MBeans if a web * * application is stopped. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The portlet container registers a JMX notification listener on an object name that represents a portlet application. When a stop notification is received by the listener, it deactivates the portlet applications MBeans. Currently the object name that is used to register the listener is not complete, it basically comprises only the web module name and does not contain the J2EEApplication. This causes the following problem if there are two web modules with identical name in separate enterprise applications: If one web module is stopped, the portlet container may erroneously deactivate the MBeans of the other portlet application. In consequence, the MBeans of this portlet application are no longer available.
Problem conclusion
The portlet container is fixed to use the more precise object name for registering a JMX notification listener. The object name contains the J2EEApplication. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 7.0.0.13.
