Error description
While using a JAX-WS Web service the following error may occur in the First Failure Detection Capture (FFDC) log. The error indicates that an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException occurred during the asm processing. Here is an example error: CWMDF0022W: An attempt to scan class file XXX in JAR file XXX failed with exception: "java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: Array index out of range: 1" at org.objectweb.asm.MethodWriter.visitParameterAnnotation(Unknown Source) at org.objectweb.asm.MethodAdapter.visitParameterAnnotation(Unknown Source) at org.objectweb.asm.ClassReader.a(Unknown Source) at org.objectweb.asm.ClassReader.accept(Unknown Source) at org.objectweb.asm.ClassReader.accept(Unknown Source) at com.ibm.ws.metadata.annotations.AnnotationConfigReader. getAnnotationData(AnnotationConfigReader.java:319) Since the JAX-WS runtime ignores the error, the error should not be placed in the FFDC log. The presence of this error caused the customer to believe that the Web service had failed.
Local fix
This is just a warning message so ignorable.

The presence of this error caused the customer to believe that the Web service had failed.
Problem conclusion
The JAX-WS runtime is changed to remove the indicated error from the FFDC log. The condition will be written to the trace log for debugging purposes. This same problem is fixed in the V6.1 and V7.0 version of WebSphere Application Server by the APAR PM12818. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 6.1.0.33.
