Error description

  • Note: PM27451 supersedes this fix.
    
    
    
    It is not possible to use friendly URLs for a request that
    should trigger a home substitution (ie. replacing "myportal" for
    "portal" and vice versa). The redirection URL will not contain
    the friendly name(s) of the original URL.
    
    To recreate or identify this problem, create a page under the
    content root with friendly URL "testf".  Define a URL mapping
    context "testm" to point to this page.
    
    Log in and verify the page can be accessed with either:
    
    .../wps/myportal/testm (URL mapping)
    or
    .../wps/myportal/testf (friendly URL)
    
    With uri.home.substitution=true request:
    
    .../wps/portal/testm (URL mapping)
    
    The correct page will be displayed and an engine trace will
    contain:
    
    [timestamp] 0000003e WPActionPhase 3
    com.ibm.wps.engine.phases.WPActionPhase getRedirectURL() legacy
    information provider requests redirect to
    http://localhost:10040/wps/myportal/testm
    
    
    Then request:
    
    .../wps/portal/testf (friendly URL)
    
    The default authenticated page will be displayed and the trace
    will contain:
    
    [timestamp] 0000003e WPActionPhase 3
    com.ibm.wps.engine.phases.WPActionPhase getRedirectURL() legacy
    information provider requests redirect to
    http://localhost:10040/wps/myportal/
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • It is not possible to use friendly URLs for a request that
    should trigger a home substitution (ie. replacing "myportal" for
    "portal" and vice versa). The redirection URL will not contain
    the friendly name(s) of the original URL.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This APAR fixes the code that generates the redirect URL. It now
    includes the friendly name(s) of the original URL.
