Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of IBM WebSphere Application Server * * v7 Feature Pack for Service Component * * Architecture (SCA) and WebSphere Process * * Server v7.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Memory leak after application was * * installed then uninstalled * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** After the application was installed and uninstalled, its registered types were not freed up from the SDO type registry.
Problem conclusion
The SPI ReferenceSharingScopeManager used by WebSphere Proces Server keeps the object reference to the uninstalled types so the JVM cannot garbage collect them causing the memory leak. The memory leak has been corrected. APAR PM11718 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service Level (Fix Pack) 1.0.1.3 of WebSphere Application Server v7 Feature Pack for Service Component Architecture (SCA) Refresh Pack.
