Error description
Storage growth is observed in subpool 239 ESQA. The storage contained SSD eyecatchers. SSDs are "suspended service descriptors" obtained for PAUSE/RELEASE in this case. The VSM OWNCOMM data indicated that the SSDs were being getmained by a PSW in IEAVSRBO. Also, the SSDs were being allocated via repeated IEAVAPE invocations. IEAVAPE is a pause element macro. This is caused by WebSphere for z/OS allocating pause elements that are not being freed. This apar will address this issue.

For each pause element there is a control block in ESQA subpool 239. The control block contains an eyecatcher. The eyecatcher is SSD. example of storage that is leaked: 01B90000 E2E2C440 00000000 01B90048 00F59000 | SSD .........5.. | 01B90010 80CBD29C 01000000 00000000 A0000000 | ..K............. | 01B90020 00000000 027C4A00 00000000 00000000 | .....@?......... | 01B90030.:01B9003F. Problem conclusion
Updated the code to deallocate the pause element when a thread ends. APAR PM11579 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.13 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0. Please refer to URL: //www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=404&uid=swg27006970 for Fix Pack availability.
