• This APAR addresses problems with FM/IMS found during internal

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1. The IMS data panel sometimes         *
  *                      displays 'Layout=not matched' for a     *
  *                      segment occurrence that has an invalid  *
  *                      OCCURS DEPENDING ON (ODO) object when   *
  *                      SHOW SUP is set off.                    *
  *                                                              *
  *                      2. The IMS data panel does not display  *
  *                      =DA in the Cmd field for a segment      *
  *                      occurrence that has an invalid ODO      *
  *                      object.                                 *

  *                      3. Edit sometimes uses the wrong layout *
  *                      when validating updates to a segment    *
  *                      occurrence.                             *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *

  1. Before FM/IMS can determine whether a segment occurrence has
  an invalid ODO object or not, it must identify its layout.
  Segment occurrences with an invalid ODO object should be
  displayed together with the other segment occurrences that have
  this layout (when the layout is not suppressed) or represented
  by a shadow line that specifies the name of its layout (when
  the layout is suppressed).
  
  2. The IMS data panel does not adequately flag segment
  occurrences that have invalid ODO objects. Since these segment
  occurrences are often not correctly mapped and FM/IMS displays
  them whether or not they satisfy the selection criteria, it is
  important that they do get flagged.
  
  3. The problem occurs when editing with a view that has
  selection criteria.
  

Problem conclusion

• FM/IMS has been modified to fix the above defects.
