  * USERS AFFECTED: All File Manager Users.                      *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1. Serious performance issue performing *
  *                      a Change ALL <from> <to> in a large     *
  *                      file with a high hit rate.              *
  *                      2. AbendS0C4 may occur when using a     *
  *                      segmented tempalte with a large file    *
  *                      and issuing the BOTTOM or DOWN MAX      *
  *                      command.                                *
  *                      3. Receiving abendS0C4 when comparing   *
  *                      two empty datasets.                     *
  *                      4. May receive abendS0C4 when comparing *
  *                      datasets with templates.                *
  *                      5. Abends and JFCB messages appear      *
  *                      when trying (E)dit (V)iew for HFS       *
  *                      directories. Also (E)diting files that  *
  *                      you don't have permission to prints     *
  *                      messages such as 'Function terminated'  *
  *                      6. Template changes made in TE not      *
  *                      taking effect in certain circumstances. *
  *                      7. When editing a VSAM data set defined *
  *                      as SHR(3,3) and already open in another *
  *                      address space (such as CICS), File      *
  *                      Manager does not provide an edit        *
  *                      warning message.                        *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *
  ****************************************************************
  1. File Managers memory management was not dealing well with
  scenarios involving long running commands that may consume more
  than half the available virtual storage, resulting in excessive
  internal processing.
  2. An error in internal editor record chaining occurs when
  segmented records are being used and virtual storage is running
  low.
  3,4. An uninitialized variable was causing random results when
  compare files were empty or templates were used.
  5. HFS related files were incorrectly being checked for
  inclusion in a concatenation.
  6. Regrouping of records after template changes was not being
  correctly performed.
  7. File Manager Editor should issue a popup message indicating
  that the data set is open in another address space when the
  cross system shareoptions are 3 or 4.
  

Problem conclusion

• File Manager has been updated in order to:
  1. Correctly and more efficiently handle commands that may
  consume all of the available virtual storage.
  2. Correctly process segmented records while low on available
  virtual storage.
  3,4. Correctly initialize internal variables for the compare
  process.
  5. Correct inappropriate checking of HFS files and issue the
  'Permission denied' message as required.
  6. Correctly regroup records after a template modification.
  7. Issue correct popop warning message.(sysroute of PK86463).
