PM10063: ITEM IS ALREADY LOCKED BY A SAME USER

Error description

  • When trying to save a content item sometimes we get a message
    that the item is already locked by the same user.
    
    Error message on screen: "Item is already locked by user XXXX"
    
    Exception in logs:

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The workspace user wasn't being cleared from a thread local
    cache which made it appear as though the logged in user was the
    workspace user (who did not own the lock) if the thread was
    reused to save the item in the UI.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The thread local cache is cleared in getWorkspace().
