APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
Using the Administrative Console to map a shared library to an application gets corrupted if there are currently duplicate mapped shared libraries existing for this application. "Null" values are shown in the drop down for existing shared libraries. Selecting any option or button takes the Administrative Console back to the Welcome/Login panel.
Local fix
1) Make a copy of the deployment.xml for the application in question outside of Websphere was_home/profiles/dmgr01/config/cells/<cellname>/applications/<a pp_name. ear>/deployments/<app_name>/deployment.xml 2) Manually remove the duplicate entries for all shared libraries and save these changes to was_home/profiles/dmgr01/config/cells/<cellname>/applications/<a pp_name. ear>/deployments/<app_name>/deployment.xml 3) Go under SystemAdmin > Nodes Select each node one at a time and do a full sync. Wait for the sync to complete before syncing the next node. 4) Once steps 1 - 3 are done. Shut down AutoSync for all nodes involved 5) Map your shared Library to your application. 6) Repeat Step 3 above for all nodes, one at a time. 7) Once completed with steps 4 - 6, then turn back on AutoSync for all nodes The aforementioned steps should allow for minimum server down time.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V6.1 and V7.0 using the * * administrative console to map shared * * libraries when libraries are duplicately * * defined. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a user maps a shared * * library that is duplicately defined in * * the deployment.xml, they will be * * logged off the console. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The console code incorrectly allocates space for duplicately defined shared libraries causing null data to be defined.
Problem conclusion
The console will correctly allocate data based only on unique shared libraries. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 6.1.0.33 and 7.0.0.11.
