Error description

  • A mediation on a queue point defined on an MQServer stops
    working after an application is installed/uninstalled, or a
    BUS configuration reload occurs. The following FFDC is logged:

    Exception = java.lang.ClassCastException
    Source =
    com.ibm.ws.sib.processor.impl.DynamicConfigManager.refreshDestin
    ations
    probeid = 1:134:1.25.1.1
    Stack Dump = java.lang.ClassCastException:

    com.ibm.ws.sib.processor.impl.mediation.MediationStateMachine.
    tellMediationToStop(MediationStateMachine.java:1298)

    The messaging engine hosting the mediation needs to be
    restarted in order to resolve the issue.

Local fix

  • Restarting the server , which will re-start the messaging engine
    will resolve the problem.

    ****************************************************************
    The code controlling mediations did not expect the mediated
    destination to be on an MQServer. As a result, when a BUS
    configuration reload occurs, and the mediation must be
    stopped, the ClassCastException occurs, and the mediation
    stops functioning.

Problem conclusion

  • PK94588 resolves the problem and mediations on MQServer
    destinations can be stopped and started when a BUS
    configuration reload occurs.
