Problem summary

* USERS AFFECTED: All DB2 9 for z/OS users of XML              *

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DB2 terminated abnormally after an      *
*                      ABEND04E RC00E20005 DSNSVSVB+08F2 and   *
*                      SQLCODE20345 was issued incorrectly     *
*                      when inserting an XML document.         *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

ABEND04E RC00E20005 DSNSVSVB+08F2 occurred and SQLCODE20345 was
issued incorrectly when inserting an XML document that contains
a large text node that spans multiple records. A logic error
in handling the large text node caused memory overlay.

Problem conclusion

  • DB2 code has been fixed to prevent the memory overlay caused
when inserting an XML document with large text.
