Error description
If a search using the Directory Search portlet ("picker") exceeds the configured maximum no results are shown. A message similar to the following is written to SystemOut.log: ■12/7/09 14:16:50:375 EST 00000064 exception 1 com.ibm.ws.wim.ProfileManager searchImpl com.ibm.websphere.wim.exception.MaxResultsExceededException: CWWIM1018E '4' search results exceeds the '1' maximum search limit. at com.ibm.ws.wim.ProfileManager.searchImpl(ProfileManager.java:109 2) ... However, there is no indication on the browser that the search result set exceeded the limit. The "maximum search limit" in the error refers to the property maxSearchResults in VMM. All users of Directory Search who access WebSphere Portal using Internet Explorer or Firefox are affected. Additional browsers were not tested.
