Error description
Description: Cannot create Portal Search Scope after upgrade or configuring WebSphere Portal 6.1.0.3+6.1.5 feature pack where it throws null pointer exceptions. Cause: The issue is not with the scope creation. From the trace it seems like there was an issue with creating scope RiverBend and when we try to get scopes now we get null pointer exception, since scopeElement for this one is null (for some reason), maybe they performed migration and something wasn't performed properly. , TITLEhr=RiverBendScope, DESCRIPTIONsk=Search Scope for River Bend, DESCRIPTIONda=Search Scope for River Bend, TITLEen=RiverBendScope, TITLEel=RiverBendScope, DESCRIPTIONja=Search Scope for River Bend} [1/12/10 9:40:03:223 EST] 0000006c ScopeServiceI > com.ibm.lotus.search.siapi.search.imp.ScopeServiceImp scopeElementsFromString ENTRY <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <java version="1.6.0" class="java.beans.XMLDecoder"> <void class="com.ibm.lotus.search.siapi.search.imp.ScopeFactoryImp"> <void id="LocationImp0" method="createLocation"> <string>\ENCODING_PREFIX52697665722042656E6420436F6E74656E74\</s tring> <null /> </void> <void id="ScopeElementImp1" method="createScopeElement"> <array class="com.ibm.siapi.common.scope.Location" length="1"> <void index="0"> <object idref="LocationImp0" /> </void> </array> </void> </void> <array class="com.ibm.siapi.common.scope.ScopeElement" length="1"> <void index="0"> <object idref="ScopeElementImp1" /> </void> <void index="0"> <object idref="ScopeElementImp1" /> </void> </array> </java> [1/12/10 9:40:03:243 EST] 0000006c SystemErr R java.lang.NoSuchMethodException: No method with name createScopeElement is found [1/12/10 9:40:03:293 EST] 0000006c SystemErr R at java.beans.Statement.findMethod(Unknown Source) [1/12/10 9:40:03:293 EST] 0000006c SystemErr R at java.beans.Statement.invokeMethod(Unknown Source) [1/12/10 9:40:03:293 EST] 0000006c SystemErr R at java.beans.Expression.getValue(Unknown Source)
