    * changed is a substitute variable with *
    * no trailing comma and the variable is *
    * at the end of a record but in the *
    * middle of a JCL statement the changed *
    * JCL may be incorrect. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
File Manager is removing the trailing comma if found in a
changed JCL statament. The original JCL statement contains
a substitute variable with no trailing comma in the middle of
the JCL statement but at the end of a record. File Manager
assumes that the JCL statement finishes after the substitute
variable because there is no comma. If the new value supplied
to change the substitute variable contains a trailing comma it
will be removed when the JCL statement is reformatted. The
trailing comma should only be removed if the new string is a
null value i.e. has a length of zero.

Problem conclusion

  • File Manager has been updated to correct the problem.
