Error description
When WebSphere Application Server is upgraded to v6.1.0.23, the JDBC resource adapter does not poll for events
Local fix
Upgrade to WebSphere Application Server v6.1.0.25, add the following jvm custom property and set its value to true. Property name: com.ibm.ejs.j2c.RAWrapper.changeMemberStateOnActivating Value: true
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V6.1 who use Websphere adapters for * * inbound polling * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: WebSphere adapter does not poll for * * inbound events without manual * * configuration * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** In 6.1.0.25 the fix PK79133 was integrated which introduced a JVM system property 'changeMemberStateOnActivating' which had to be enabled in order for the inbound adapter poll for events. However customers prefer to have the adapter poll for events by default and to not have to enable a property in order to do the polling. This fix ensures that the Websphere adapter polls for inbound events by default and need not require a property to be enabled to achieve polling.
Problem conclusion
The problem has been fixed so that Websphere adapters will poll for events irrespective of the presence of the jvm property. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 6.1.0.31.
