• This APAR provides miscellaneous enhancements to File Manager
  BAse functions.

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: All File Manager Users.                      *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1. WRITE() statement to UNIT=AFF        *
  *                      data sets produces an ABENDS413-04      *
  *                      2. No ability to specify multiple       *
  *                      member names to DSP, DSU and FCH.       *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *
  ****************************************************************
  1.WRITE() processing keeps the data set open so when you have
  WRITE(DD1) and WRITE(DD2)and DD2 and DD2 are coded to share
  the same tape unit File Manager will abend when the second
  WRITE statement is processed.

• 1.WRITE() processing will now detect UNIT=AFF and force a close
  for a any previous WRITE() statement that are holding the
  unit. If a WRITE statement causes a re-open of the unit then
  the File Manager procedure will terminate.
  2.New keyword MEMLIST is now available for FCH, DSP and DSU
  processing to support specification of multiple members.
  
  Please note that although this is a sysroute of V9 PK95812
  many of the enhancements included are in V10 at GA level
  including documentation changes.
  
  This APAR addresses some defects in those enhancements.
