PM03599: ERROR AFTER DELETING THE VALUE IN THE AUTHORING TEMPLATE FOR THE NAME FIELD WIDTH.

Error description

  • After deleting the value in authoring template for the name
field width
the customer receives a blank screen and is unable to edit the
authoring
template.
Errors seen:
SRVE0068E: Uncaught exception thrown in one of the service
methods of
the servlet: /jsp/html/AuthoringUIView.jsp. Exception thrown :
java.lang.NullPointerException

Local fix

  • 



Problem summary


    

  • After a user deletes the value of Field Length from an authoring
template they are unable to use the template any more. A
NullPointerException occurs when reading the length value.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • When the length value is cleared we restore the value to it's
default. This has been applied to all length fields authoring
template identity control dialogue.
