Error description

• DB2 V9 DataSharing ABND=04E-00E20006 causing a DB2 crash.

  Above abend was issued after ABEND04E RC00C200B0 in DSNB1REL.
  Both of them were issued due to storage overlay. During the
  allocation of plan S6030 section 7, too small storage was
  obtained for the section and loading the section from
  DSNDB01.SCT01 overlaid following area of the obtained storage.
  
  The length of the section was gotten from a directory section.
  But the directory section for the plan had been already freed
  and reused.
  
  The ABEND04E RC00C200B0, RC00E20006 and DB2 crash was caused by
  a storage overlay which happened while loading plan S6030
  section 7.

  When a thread is requesting a plan or package section, the
  plan/package directory that the thread is accessing might have
  been re-used by another thread for a different plan/package.
  
  This can cause errors or an overlay in reading the section
  from DASD and results in unpredictable abends including
  bringing down DB2.
  
  The overlay can be on a storage manager control block for
  the below-the-bar (31 bit) private area.
  

Problem conclusion

• DB2 is corrected to eliminate the window when a directory could
  be erroneously identified to be valid so that such error will
  not happen.
