Error description

  • A COUNT of zero will be returned and exception trace records
will be written by a CPSM V3R1M0 MAS when a CPSM V4R1M0 API
program issues a GET with the TEST parameter for HTASK resource
records to the MAS. The exception trace records will be written
by method EYU0NQGF (NQGF), and will have a debug text of
'INVCICSR' and a trace point ID of 471.

Since the CICS TS 4.1 CMCI uses the CPSM API GET with the TEST
operand to implement its record warning count, requests issued
through the CMCI where record warning count is activated that
are directed to CPSM V3R1M0 MASes will return a COUNT of zero to
the CMCI, along with writing the execption trace records
locally. Since the CMCI will be returned a COUNT of zero, it
will likely allow the data to be retrieved in situations where
the record warning count would reject the request. This may
result in stress in the CPSM V4R1M0 CMAS to which the CMCI
    coneects.

Note that the TEST parameter of the CPSM API GET command and the
CMCI record warning count are only available for requests that
originate through a CPSM V4R1M0 CMAS, and only if the PTFs that
resolve the CICS TS 4.1 and CPSM V4R1M0 APAR PK91877 have been
    applied.

When the TEST parameter is used with the API GET command, a
viewmod is specified in the parameter list passed to the MAS.
Method EYU0NQHT (NQHT) correctly sets the inverse of the restype
into the queue header that the resulting data is returned with.
However, NQHT also passes the inverse of the restype to method
EYU0NQGF (NQGF). When NQGF attempts to look up the restype to
determine how to process the request, it fails to find the
restype because it is inverted. This results in the exception
    trace and no data returned.

Problem conclusion

  • NQHT has been updated to pass the correct restype to NQGF.
