Error description
shutdown hang is caused by a CONSOLE request received during shutdown. The modify command received, CEMT S PROG(IED0143) PH, has caused DFHZCNA to create a CWE for CATA to be started because the userid tokenreceived in the request is different fromthe one in the SNEX associatedwith the CCE/TCTTE for console COPY, console name NEWCOPY. SIGNOFF/SIGNON is active for that console. The XMAT ATTACH is issued by DFHZACT for CATA. DFHXMAT returned anexception response with reason NOT_ENABLED_FOR_SHUTDOWN and attach CSAC instead. CSAC run and issues message DFHAC2007. On the next TCP scan DFHZCNA find the CIB still on the Queue and because TCTTE_SIGNON is on in the CCE the process is defered causing the shutdown to hang. This problem should have been fixed by PK82289 but still occurs due to an incorrect branch being taken within DFHZACT.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users with PK82289 applied. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CICS Shutdown hangs when Console * * request is received during Shutdown. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** During CICS Shutdown a Modify command is issued from a console. This console was previously used by a different user, so CATA is attached to signoff the old user, and sign on the new user. But CATA is defined as Shutdown Disabled, so the attach fails, and the task suspended. Another Modify command comes in from the same console, and the userid is unknown since the previous sign off / sign on has not been actioned. The CIB for this is added to the deferred queue with the TCTCE_SIGNON bit left on, and while items remain on this deferred queue CICS cannot shutdown. This problem still occurs after applying PK82289. This is due to an incorrect branch instruction after testing flag TCTCWE_SGN. Additional keywords: MSGDFHAC2007 CATR
Problem conclusion
UK47089 UK47090 DFHZACT has been changed to take the correct branch so that TCTCE_SIGNON is turned off after CATA has failed.
