Error description
Migration fails with a NullPointerException during import. The following exception can be seen in the migration log files: FINE: Updating item with UUID: 0a21c3804f9200db9cffbdda7e6b8225 Sep 14, 2009 5:21:45 AM com.ibm.workplace.app.migration FINE: Logged out of the JCR Sep 14, 2009 5:21:45 AM com.ibm.workplace.app.migration SEVERE: Import system problem encountered; terminating; fix issue and resume Sep 14, 2009 5:21:45 AM com.ibm.workplace.app.migration FINE: Import system problem encountered; terminating; fix issue and resume java.lang.NullPointerException: null at com.ibm.workplace.wcm.app.migration.importer.data.DataImporter.p erformUpdates(DataImporter.java:716) ...
Local fix
This error can be worked around by removing the UUID from the update.index file and resuming migration.
Problem summary
Migration is trying to update an item that doesn't exist in the repository. This scenario occurs when a deleted item's UUID (which can be obtained from the exception in the logs) is specified in the update.index file in the migration summary folder. Deleted items should not be included in the update.index file.
Problem conclusion
Migration no longer adds deleted item uuids to the update.index file.
Temporary fix
