APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • DEDB AREA was quiesced by UPDATE AREA START(QUIESCE)
    OPTION(HOLD).
During the AREA was in quiesced status, XRF TAKEOVER occurred.
After TKO completed, UPDATE AREA NAME(DEPO240) STOP(QUIESCE)
command was issued and completed with RC=00, and we could update
the AREA from new active IMS.
But new ALLOC record for this AREA was not created in RECON.
Type5703 and type5701 log records were written in new active IMS
at STOP(QUIESCE) time, but USID, DSSN and time stamp are null in
    these log records.

A DEDB AREA was quiesced by UPDATE AREA START(QUIESCE)
OPTION(HOLD). While the AREA was in a quiesced status, an XRF
TAKEOVER occurred. After the takeover completed, an UPDATE AREA
NAME(DEPO240) STOP(QUIESCE) command was issued and completed
with RC=00, and the AREA was updated. But a new ALLOC record
for the AREA was not created in RECON. A Type5703 and Type5701
log records were written for the new active IMS at STOP(QUIESCE)
time, but the USID, DSSN and time stamp values were null in
    those log records.
    .
DBRC keeps track of the ALLOC activity in the incore DBDS table,
DSPDBDST. The pointer, ccbDBTAD, in the Client Level Control
Block, DSPCCBAR, provides addressability to the DSPDBDST. Each
subsystem has its own DSPCCBAR. Consequently, following the XRF
Takeover the new active's DSPCCBAR was now in use which did not
have a ccbDBTAD value. During the STOP(QUIESCE) function
DSPALD00 is called to create new ALLOCs for those DEDBs that
were in QUIESCE HOLD Status. Since the pointer to the DBDS
Table was zero DSPALD00 was unable to determine the status of
any DEDB. Therefor, no ALLOCs were written for the new active
    IMS.

Problem conclusion

  • GEN:
    KEYWORDS:

    *** END IMS KEYWORDS ***
DSPALD00 has been changed to resolve this problem. Procedure
DBDSFIND has been updated to rebuild the DSPDBDST when it is
called during Quiesce processing and either the table doesn't
exist ( ccbDBTAD = 0 ) or the DEDB was not found in the table.
The quiesce status, DBDTDBQ, will then be available for the
    rest of the DSPALD00 process.
    .
DSPDBDST has been updated to rename the DBDBQD flag bit to
    DBDTDBQ.
