Error description

  • When using EPHOX to edit RTE adding an image and using it to
create a link results in a broken image in the RTE.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Adding an image to rich text element and then using it as the
hyper-linked element results in broken images on drafts.

Problem conclusion

  • Detailed Problem Description:
This issue is observed in version 6.x when a user using either
the Ephox or ODC editor adds an image to the RTE of a draft item
and tries to then select and create a hyperlink containing the
new image. After the draft is saved opening the item in either
read or edit mode displays a broken image. Preview correctly
    renders the image.
    .
    Problem Analysis:
WCM does not create the URL to the image correctly because the
images container is viewed as the hyperlink. The URL is created
without the workspaceId and therefore the image appears broken
when accessed in read or edit mode while the status is draft.
Preview works. The image also appears once the content is
published because no workspaceId is required at that point.

Temporary fix

  • publish the item then add the links.
