APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If a user does not have edit access to all the RTE fields on a
content document which uses EditLive! or another 3rd party rich
text editor, the changes in the editable RTE fields are lost
when the document is saved. You may also see the following error
in the JavaScript console: "IBM_RTE_getWindow(editorName) is
    undefined".

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The RTE fields in read mode (the ones which the user does not
have edit access to) are rendered using the ODC editor and this
conflicts with the JavaScript integration API used by third
    party editors.

Problem conclusion

  • The ODC editor's integration JavaScript is no longer loaded when
displaying the editor in read mode.
