Error description

  • Enabling multi-row schema for session persistence lead to
SQLException during persisting the session into DB.

With multirow schema enabled each session attribute is persisted
in one DB row, the limitation for the attribute names of the
session attributes is in this case 128 CHAR.

Propertybroker created an attribute name being longer then 128
char, which led to the SQLException.
    sample attribute name (166 char):
    com.ibm.portal.propertybroker.xp.sl:[ObjectIDImpl'6_S9BDCFH208U4
    0IG3L96UR00G4', CONTENT_NODE, VP: -11879, [Domain:rel],
    DB: 99D1-3CADC65E140079428084A326E3370090]

Local fix

  • Disabling the multirow schema for session persistence if
possible. In that case the whole session object is serialized
(means all attribute name and values are persistend in one row).

Problem summary

  • Customer is getting an error indicating that the value of a
property in sessions table is larger than it's allowed length
(128 char). This happens only if the 'multirow schema' for
    session persistence was enabled.

    com.ibm.portal.propertybroker.xp.sl:[ObjectIDImpl
    '6_S9BDCFH208U440IG3L96UR00G4', CONTENT_NODE, VP: -11879,
    [Domain: rel], DB: 99D1-3CADC65E140079428084A326E3370090]

is the property whose value is greater than 128 characters.

    An exception like this appears:
    [8/13/09 14:47:49:495 CDT] 00000089 SessionContex E Exception
    is:
com.ibm.db2.jcc.c.SqlException: The value of a host variable in
the EXECUTE or OPEN statement is too large for its corresponding
    use.

Problem conclusion

  • Problem Solution:
       Reduced session listener name length
