PK94276: CAN NOT DELETE ITEMS WITH PROPAGATION DISABLED ON THE LIBRARY

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If you have granted the required access permissions for deleting
  an item (i.e. contributor access  on the library, editor access
  on the appropriate library role, manager access on the item
  itself and user access on it's parent) but have propagation
  unchecked on the library, the item can not be deleted.
  

Local fix

• Check propagation for contributor access on the library.
  

Problem summary

• Propagation was required to propagate contributor access on the
  library to the hidden deletion summary folder where deleted
  items are stored when an item is deleted. If you uncheck
  propagation the user will not have access to store the deletion
  summary and the deletion will fail.
  

Problem conclusion

• Deletion summaries are now created by the system user so that
  contributor access does not need to be propagated to the hidden
  deletion summary folder for the user performing the delete.
