PK93070: INCOMPLETE AND BLANK EKM COMMANDS WHEN THE JZOS EKM WRAPPER CODE IS IN USE CAN CAUSE A HANG

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When running ekm in batch with the jzos ekm wrapper,
  a hang or wait can occur if an incomplete and blank
  command is entered.  For example, if the modify command
  F EKM50C,APPL='
   is entered instead of the valid command
  F EKM50C,APPL='STATUS'
   any attempts to reenter the correct command results in message
  IEE342I MODIFY   REJECTED-TASK BUSY
  

Local fix

• none. Once the task is in this state, the only way to recover
  is to cancel it.
  

Problem summary

• The EKMConsoleWrapper (V2.0 for EKM2.1) will hang if a
  modify command only contains a single quote.
  Example f ekm21,appl='
  

Problem conclusion

• This defect will be fixed in:
  1.4.2 SR13 FP1
  .
  The problem is fixed in jar jzosekm.jar.
  The jar manifest contains Specification-Version: ${2.1}.
  Start up message to operator console will display
  'EKM wrapper V2.1 for EKM2.1'
