Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server 6.1 with the EJB3 feature pack * * installed. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A ClassCastException will occur * * during application deployment if the * * application deployment descriptor * * contains a reference to an unknown * * module. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** While parsing the application deployment descriptor, if a module element points to a URI that does not exist the error processing tries to use an alternate method to find the module. This error path contains an incorrect class type reference on a method invocation.
Problem conclusion
The processing in the error path has been changed to remove the alternate method of module location. It has been determined to be extraneous. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 6.1.0.29.
