APAR status

Error description

• <SUMMARY>
  Dates are represented in the authoring UI before they are saved
  to the content.
  
  <PROBLEM DESCRIPTION>
  In the following scenario:
   - User clicks clear next to the publish date for a content item
  (in the authoring UI).
   - User saves content (first time).
   - User edits content again.
   - Publish date is displayed as current time stamp.
     This time stamp is not actually saved to the content until
  the user click save (second time).
  
  This is misleading as what is shown in the UI is not represented
  in the data model.
  
  <ANALYSIS>
  We generate a publish date each time content with no publish
  date is edited in the authoring UI.
  
  <SOLUTION>
  When content with the following characterstics is saved we set
  the publish date to a current time stamp.
   1. Content is not an authoring template.
   2. Publish date is NOT mandatory (in this case user should
  enter)
   3. Publish date has no current value when saved.
