Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users applying UK41029. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: MSGIEW2456E issued when applying PTF * * UK41029 on a z/OS 1.7 system. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** PTF UK41029 is being applied on a z/OS 1.7 system. The link-edit issued as part of the APPLY fails with message IEW2456E 9207 SYMBOL _GetCatName__FiPCc UNRESOLVED. The message gets issued because the specified routine does not exist in z/OS 1.7. It is only available on z/OS 1.8 and above systems. The reference to this routine was added by the compiler when the CICS WS-Security parts were built. The compiler was running on a z/OS 1.9 system. The compilation did not specify the TARGET option so the compiler assumed it could make use of any facilities available within the current z/OS level. Additional keywords: 2456E PK65352 DFHWSXXX DFHWSSE1
Problem conclusion
UK41029 The build for the CICS WS-Security parts has been updated to specify TARGET(ZOSV1R7) which is the minimum z/OS level supported by CICS TS 3.2.
