Error description

Creating a self signed certificate with Audit Signing
configuration on z/OS with a writeable System Authorization
Facility (SAF)keyring fails.

NullPointerException while using the AuditReader utility
on a Binary audit log on z/OS that was signed using a self
signed certificate in a writeable SAF keyring.

Creating a self signed certificate for the audit signing
configuration through either wsadmin tasks or the admin
console fails with: SECJ7417E: Failure creating the self
signed certificate for audit encryption: R_datalib (IRRSDL00)
error: One or more updates could not be completed. Bad
encoding of private key or unsupported algorithm or key size
invalid.

Problem conclusion

CreateAuditSigningConfig and ModifyAuditSigningConfig wsadmin
tasks were modified to properly create a self signed
certifcate on z/OS when using a writeable SAF keyring.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.5.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
