Error description

Users of Rational Application Developer developing JAX-RPC Web
Service applications, running on Eclipse 3.5, may encounter
errors when compiling the applications against WebSphere
Application Server's websphere_apis.jar on Java 5 or higher.
In Eclipse, the error that may be seen is similar to:

The type
com.ibm.wsspi.webservices.rpc.handler.soap.SOAPMessageContext
cannot be resolved.
It is indirectly referenced from required .class files
MyTestBindingStub.java myapp/src/com/mytest line 102 Java
Problem

This may affect websphere_apis.jar files derived from both the
6.1, and 7.0 versions of WebSphere Application Server.

This issue prevents performing serverless development of
JAX-RPC Web Services Applicationson Rational Application
Developer.

Eclipse 3.5 has made Java compiler fixes which now expose an
issue when compiling JAX-RPC generated code against
websphere_apis.jar using Java 5 or higher. In Eclipse, the
error is:

The type
com.ibm.wsspi.webservices.rpc.handler.soap.SOAPMessageContext
cannot be resolved.

Problem conclusion

Additional classes were added to the websphere_apis.jar file
to ensure they are resolved when using Eclipse 3.5.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 6.1.0.27 and 7.0.0.7.  Please refer to the Recommended
