APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If Move Data encounters a damaged bitfile it may incorrectly add
  a tape pool id to the
  disk pool list.  When migration from a disk pool runs, a pool
  descriptor has to be obtained for
  each id on the disk pool list.  When the tape pool id is
  encountered the migration process
  will fail with "Error obtaining pool descriptor".
    TSM Versions Affected: ALL
    Customer/L2 Diagnostics:
    Check 'SHOW SSPOOL' for the pool id given in the error
  message.  The pool id will
    be for a tape pool when migration is being run on a disk pool
  when the failure occurs.
    Initial Impact: medium

Local fix

• Restarting the TSM Server will remove the offending tapepool
  descriptor and allow migration to run.
