Error description

• Customer migrated to V9.
  It seems that DB2 is now passing an invalid AVGRLEN to SORT.
  SORT CAPACITY EXCEEDED during REORG.
  Version 8.1, AVGRLEN was 2455. Under DB2 Version 9, it is 300.
  This occurs with or without UTSORTAL=YES.

  *                      then issues ABEND04E with RC00E40005    *
  *                      when running against a compressed       *
  *                      partitioned table space.                *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply corrective PTF when available          *
  ****************************************************************
  REORG TABLESPACE was calculating an incorrect average row length
  for partitioned table spaces with empty or only sparsely
  populated partitions. This failure only occured when running
  without option KEEPDICTIONARY.
  

Problem conclusion

• Code has been changed to calculate an average row length based
  on a weighted compression ratio over all partitions of the table
  space.
