Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V6.1.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: OutOfMemory occurs in a large topology * * when performing continuous application * * deployments and/or resource creations. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Recycle the servers and try increasing the * * size of the "-Xms -Xmx" java options. * **************************************************************** An Out Of Memory condition occurs in large topologies when performing application deployments and/or resource creations. A javacore will show a lot of objects of type com.ibm.ws.sm.workspace.imp.RepositoryContextImpl.
Problem conclusion
The code has been modified to improve the usage of memory by these objects. With this change applied, the OutOfMemory condition did not reoccur in internal tests, however spikes in memory usage may still occur. APAR PK81327 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service Level (Fix Pack) 6.1.0.24 of WebSphere Application Server V6.1 Please refer to URL: //www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=404&uid=swg27006970 for Fix Pack availability.
