Error description

SPNEGO authentication to WebSphere 6.1 applications fails when
using a upper-cased aliased host name.  Specifically, it does
not work when the case of the aliased host (MYSERVER.ibm.com)
does not match the case of the hostname in the SPN
(HTTP/myserver.ibm.com)

When an uppercase or mixed-case hostname is configured for
Simple and Protected GSSAPI Negotiation Mechanism
(SPNEGO) Single-SignOn, WebSphere Application Server converts
the hostname into lowercase when it is actually uppercase
or mixed-case hostname. This cause failure in matching
hostname when HTTP request comes in for SPNEGO Single and
WebSphere Application Server does not process the request even
when there is correct hostname in the HTTP request.

Problem conclusion

Code is updated to preserve the case in hostname(s)
configured for SPNEGO Single-SignOn.
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fixpack 6.1.0.25 and 7.0.0.5.  Please refer to the Recommended
