PK77507: "SAVE AND APPROVE" OPTION WILL DISAPPEAR WHEN USER CREATE CONTENT AFTER UPGRADE TO 6014

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If you create multi-stage workflow in 6013, after upgrade to
  6014, the content creator will not see "save and approve"
  option when create content. Content creator should have
  priviledge to put content from draft to next stage by default.
  

Local fix

• Recreate the workflow with stages and actions on 6014 and create
  new content, problem can be solved
  

Problem summary

• Save and Approve button not available upon content creation when
  an authoring template includes a default Workflow Assigned
  

Problem conclusion

• Under some circumstances workflow control is not applied during
  content creation.  This results in some users who should see the
  save and approve button not seeing that button.  In addition, if
  during the creation process the customer reviews the 'Access' ->
  'Workflow Security' section of the new content they will see the
  workflow stage's security control's have not been applied to the
  content.
  .
  The WCM code in its current state sets the Workflow Control
  during content creation but does not update the controllable
  (content).  Therefore, the controllable (content) does not
  include the workflow stage's controls including the security
  control until after the content is saved at least once.
  

Temporary fix

• Save the content.  Once saved the button is
  display provided the user has the correct permissions.
